News broke two hours ago that Lionel Messi had made his final decision and would be joining Inter Miami, and the player has now declared that news himself in a statement.

There was a chance Messi would return to Barcelona and the Spanish club tried to make it happen over the last few days, but ultimately they fell short and couldn’t make it happen.

Inter Miami is Messi’s new club, but he did not have much positive things to say about his time in France in his statement.

As reported by Managing Barca, Messi has confirmed he will be joining Inter Miami and also spoke about how unhappy he was during his two years at PSG.

 “I’m not going back to Barcelona. I’m going to Inter Miami”.

Messi declared the news moment ago in an interview, and also detailed how his two years in Paris with PSG affected his family life.

 “These were two years [PSG] in which I was not happy, I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life, I missed a lot of my children’s lives at school.”

Barcelona wanted to bring Messi back and he wanted to return to Barcelona, but he did not want players to be sold by the club in order to sanction a return for him.

Messi is now an Inter Miami player after turning down the major offer from Dubai, but there could be a chance of a potential loan deal to Barcelona during the MLS off
