According to This is Anfield, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is not in talks with Al Ettifaq ahead of a possible move this summer.

It was widely reported that the 33-year-old is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League side which is currently managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard was hoping to convince Henderson to join him in Saudi Arabia. The England midfielder has only two years left on his current contract with the club and a move away from Anfield was said to be at an ‘advanced stage’.

However, This is Anfield claims that Al Ettifaq are not in contact with either the Merseysiders or the player’s camp. It is believed that the Saudi club have dismissed the widespread links regarding signing Henderson.

Henderson, who has been a great servant to the club is now set to stay at Anfield and lead Jurgen Klopp’s charges in the forthcoming season which kicks off next month.

He joined the Reds in 2010 from Sunderland and has helped the club win the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, Super Cup, Carabao Cup, Emirates FA Cup, and Community Shield earlier last season.

The trio reported for pre-season training on Tuesday following their involvement in their national team assignments last month.
