Manchester United have ‘failed’ with a bid to sign Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos this summer, say reports. Ramos is a long standing United target and has been a real option to sign as the clubs number nine.

Benfica want a substantial financial package to part ways with their top talent. A fee of around £80million was named by many sources over the past few months.

PSG are also highly interested in signing Ramos this summer. A new report states that United have ‘failed’ with a bid to sign Ramos – one that included a player as part of the deal.

United fail with bid to sign Ramos

According to a new report from CaughtOffside, United have failed with a bid to sign the striker, a bid that included Alex Telles as a player exchange. The full report from the outlet says…

“Manchester United have failed with a bid for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos which included Brazilian left-back Alex Telles as part of the deal.”

Telles does want to leave Old Trafford this summer – the left back formerly played for Porto. He also has offers on the table from his home country of Brazil.

United are likely targeting Ramsus Hojlund as their striker signing this summer. Ramos seemed like an option but now would be more unlikely than the Atalanta striker arriving.
