Fabinho will be leaving Liverpool after five years to join the Saudi Arabian league and one thing is clear, he will leave as a Liverpool legend.
The former Monaco man joined the club in 2018 and went onto win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the Community Shield whilst being an integral part of the side.
He played 219 games for Liverpool in all competitions scoring 10 goals whilst getting 11 assists as well as protecting the backline immensely.
So let’s have a look back at some of his best moments at the club with some of his best goals but before that it is definitely worth mentioning the tackle on Luis Suarez in the 4-0 win against Barcelona, certainly one of the most memorable moments.
5) Brentford 3-0 (H) 16/1/2022
Not a glorious goal by any stretch of the imagination but a vital one as Liverpool were competing with Manchester City for the league title in January. He got the opening goal against a rigid Brentford side when Jurgen Klopp didn’t have Sadio Mane and Mo Salah at his disposal due to AFCON.
4) Burnley 0-1 (A) 13/2/2022
Another goal which was not aesthetically pleasing but it was a match winner in another vital game in the title race against Manchester City. Some more poaching instincts in and around the six-yard box saw Fabinho end up putting the ball in the back of the net.
3) Crystal Palace 4-0 (H) 34/6/20
An absolute belter of a strike when Liverpool were on the verge of winning their first league title in 30 years. Unfortuantly though the rout against Crystal Palace was in an empty Anfield.
2) Villareal 2-3 (A) 3/5/22
Another vital goal which started the comeback in Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final against Villareal. They went 2-0 down early on but Fabinho’s goal got them back on track to send them to the final in Paris. Goals from Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane completed the comeback.
1) Manchester City 3-1 (H) 10/11/19
An absolute screamer within the first 6 minutes to get Liverpool off to a flyer against their main title rivals. The win, even though it was in November, was vital for Liverpool as they went onto win the Premier League title. A goal which is worth watching over and over again.
Some fantastic moments from a fantastic player who should be remembered fondly as he transformed the Liverpool midfield for several years when he joined the club.
