Wolves have expressed interest in signing Liverpool shot-stopper Caoimhin Kelleher as a possible replacement for Jose Sa, according to Daily Mail.
The Portuguese has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest and Julen Lopetegui’s side are exploring alternatives should they sell their first-choice goalkeeper.
The Reds value Kelleher around £20m. The 24-year-old could leave this summer as he wants regular football, having deputised for Alisson Becker for several seasons now.
Jurgen Klopp often uses Kelleher in cup competitions, and in 2022, the Irishman played a key role in Liverpool beating Chelsea to clinch the Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium. He netted the decisive penalty in their 11-10 shootout victory over the Blues.
However, he has had limited opportunities to play first-team football – having made only 21 appearances across all competitions and kept 10 clean sheets during his time at the club.
Last season, he featured in just five games in all competitions and it was reported that he wanted to leave this summer. Kelleher returned to the AXA Training Centre for pre-season and is expected to be part of the Reds’ squad set to travel to Germany for their training camp.
“I can’t see… honestly, I can’t see Caoimh leaving. It must be an extraordinary offer that I start thinking, I have to say,” Klopp told reporters in a press conference last season.
