It has been a mad 48 hours at Anfield with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson strongly rumoured to be close to a move to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq.
Reports are suggesting that the 33-year-old has agreed personal terms which will see him earn £700k per week but the two clubs have not yet agreed on a deal.
As news of Henderson’s possible departure broke, shortly after it was reported that Fabinho was also the subject of interest from Saudi.
The Brazilian was not expected to depart this summer but Al-Ittihad’s offer, reported to be in the region of £40million, could change that.
That leaves Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool with a huge dilemma as they step up their pre-season preparations when they travel to Germany on Saturday.
After James Milner departed on a free transfer at the end of the season, it would be a huge shock to see Henderson follow him out of the door as well.
Five Players That Could Replace Jordan Henderson As Liverpool Captain
There could be concerns about a potential leadership void should Henderson depart and The Transfer Room has taken a look at five candidates who could replace the England international as Klopp’s leader on the pitch should he exit this summer.
