Manchester United will look to sign a midfielder if they have departures this summer and Sofyan Amrabat is emerging as the most likely candidate. The Fiorentina midfielder is admired by Erik ten Hag, and could be pursued if Scott McTominay leaves.

McTominay is generating interest from West Ham United, and with Fred and Donny Van De Beek also set to leave United would be forced to sign a new midfielder. Amrabat is a cheap option with high quality, with a price tag of around £25million.

United’s focus right now is on a new goalkeeper and a striker.

Amrabat Remains A United Target:

As reported by Tyrone Marshall, Manchester United retain an interest in Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan played under Erik ten Hag at Utrecht, so the connection is already there.

United did have previous interest in Romeo Lavia but that has now cooled. Liverpool remain the club pushing hardest for Lavia, and will likely wrap up a deal for the Belgian now that Fabinho could leave.

McTominay is one of two United players West Ham have an interest in. David Moyes is a fan of Harry Maguire too, but it’s more likely the sign one and not both of the United players. McTominay could be signed to replace Declan Rice.

Amrabat has been top of United’s midfield list in the case of departures for some time. The Moroccan would add some quality on the ball to a midfield that needs it.

United are focusing on finalising a deal for Andre Onana as things stand, and will then turn attention to a striker. Rasmus Hojlund tops the list, but the Red’s are also looking at other targets too.
