Liverpool are in talks over the signing of Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard this summer.

That’s according to Christian Falk who claims that Liverpool and Chelsea are having active discussions over a possible transfer.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer with just one year left on his contract at the Allianz.

Falk told GIVEMESPORT that Liverpool, Chelsea, and Barcelona are all interested in the France international and are holding talks with his management.

“Yeah, of course. He’s an interesting player for the Premier League. Chelsea are always in talks with his management; Liverpool are in talks with his management, Barcelona as well, but Barcelona don’t have the money at the moment. They would like to have him as a free agent next summer.”

The Transfer Room’s Verdict On Benjamin Pavard Transfer Links To Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s priority this summer has always been to rebuild his midfield and that is where the bulk of the funds available will be utilised.

Defensive reinforcements are also on the agenda however but the most immediate need appears to be for a left sided central defender.

That would make a big money deal for Pavard seem unlikely therefore unless Trent Alexander-Arnold is moved to midfield on a permanent basis.
