Dominik Szoboszlai’s agent Matyas Esterhazy has lifted the lid on why Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are a perfect fit for his client.
The Hungary midfielder moved to Anfield from RB Leipzig earlier this month after the Reds triggered his £60m release clause.
He penned a five-year deal with the club as he became Klopp’s second summer signing following the arrival of Argentina international midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
The 22-year-old racked up scored 20 goals and 21 assists in 91 appearances for Leipzig – winning the German Cup in each of the last two seasons.
“The coach is always important, perhaps one of the most important factors; it has been important before and it still is, but not from a personal point of view,” Esterhazy told Sport TV.
“Much more from the point of view of philosophy, what he represents, what he believes about football, how he assembles his team, what kind of football he wants to play, what style of players are his main players. These tell us that Jurgen Klopp is an ideal professional for Dominik.”
He added: “They [Liverpool staff] knew everything about him; that’s why they decided to sign him. They’ve been following him since his childhood, and they felt like his development had reached a point where he was ready to play for Liverpool and make this step.”
On Szoboszlai’s impressive lactate tests, his agent concluded: “To me, his lactate tests are not surprising; he has achieved very good results for the last eight years. I know how motivated he is; there are very few people in the world who can beat him because of that.”
