Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is now very close to completing his move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq according to reports.

The transfer is now allegedly at the final stage with some final details needing to be finalised between the two clubs after they originally had some issues with the valuation of the England international.

Henderson has agreed personal terms for a contract until 2026 and a medical could be completed some time this week with the former Sunderland man making it clear that he would like to leave Liverpool after being told he would have limited minutes this campaign.

He will join up with his former team mate and captain Steven Gerrard who is the manager of Al-Ettifaq after he pushed hard to bring Henderson to reunite with him.

Liverpool had originally asked for £20 million for his services as the 33-year-old still has two-years left on his contract however the Saudi club thought they would be able to sign him for nothing.

It would appear though that the clubs have compromised as the move, which will see Henderson reportedly earn £700,00 a week, is now closer than ever to being done.

As well as losing Henderson Liverpool are on the verge of losing Fabinho to Saudi Arabia as well so it is expected to be a busy few weeks for Jurgen Klopp in the transfer market as he looks to find the perfect replacements for the departing duo.

Henderson will leave Liverpool on 492 appearances, eight off 500, having won every trophy possibly apart from the Europa League.
