Manchester United and their fans have been left in limbo for the last number of weeks over the sale of the club, and many are wondering whether the Glazers will actually sell the club.
Some fans believe this was all a ploy from the owners to drive the share prices of the club up, with United anticipated to make record revenues this year. Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are awaiting news from the clubs owners on whether their bids have been successful, but both are becoming angry at the process.
The Glazers announced they were considering selling the club in November, 9 months on there has been no sign of a sale.
Glazers Decision Imminent:
As reported by Bloomberg, Manchester United’s owners the Glazers are expected to decide whether to sell to club or keep it imminently. A decision is now expected soon.
It will come as a relief to Manchester United fans worldwide who are getting sick of the drawn out process. Them same fans however are likely to protest heavily if they do decide to keep hold of the club.
United fans have a right to protest against a group of owners who have drained everything good out of the club since they took over in 2006. If the Glazers decided to keep the club now, the feeling around the stadium on match days next season could get really distasteful.
Sheikh Jassim was said to be quietly confident of winning the bidding last month but no new news has been reported since then. Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains in the race despite reports he had pulled out, and will be hopeful he has won the bid.
The cry of we want Glazers Out has rang out shrill in the Red streets of Manchester since the dark day the Glazers took over the club on a leveraged buy-out, could those streets be hit with a ray of sunshine soon?
