Liverpool’s first team news of the season has been revealed and there will be excitement amongst supporters as new signing Dominik Szoboszlai starts.

Their other new recruit Alexis Mac Allister starts on the bench and is set to come on in the second half as it will likely be a whole new starting eleven.

Caiomhin Kelleher starts in goal with a back-four of Connor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson in front of him.

Trent Alexander-Arnold on paper starts in midfield alongside Bobby Clark and new big money signing Dominik Szoboszlai.

The attacking frontline is a very strong one from Jurgen Klopp as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Mohammed Salah all start.

Nunez will be playing through the middle as he looks to show why he should be starting in the opening game of the season against Chelsea.

Alexander-Arnold was playing the inverted full-back role in the run-in last season but with Bradley starting it would appear that he is getting a chance as a starting midfielder.

Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are not involved as they edge closer to completing moves to Saudi Arabia.

Starting XI: Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Clark, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Salah, Nunez.

Subs: Jaros, Mrozek, Gomez, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Jota, Tsimikas, Matip, Scanlon, Doak, McConnell, Koumas, Quansah.
