Liverpool look set to re-enter the transfer market over the coming weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.

The Anfield hierarchy had moved quickly at the start of the transfer window to bring in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Last week, however, Klopp was rocked when it emerged that he could lose two of his most experienced players.

Skipper Jordan Henderson looks set to move to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq after a fee of £12million plus add-ons was agreed for the 33-year-old. He looks likely to be followed out of the door by Brazilian Fabinho who is also the subject of a £40million offer from Al-Ittihad.

As a result, the Reds continue to be linked with a number of midfield players and it appears that Romeo Lavia of Southampton and Cheick Doucoure of Crystal Palace are close to the top of their wanted list.

According to Ben Jacobs (via The United Stand), Liverpool could be one to watch in the race for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The Sports Broadcaster also confirmed Manchester United’s interest in the 26-year-old who impressed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but suggested that people should ‘keep an eye on both Liverpool and Atletico Madrid’ in the race to sign him.

Sofyan Amrabat – The Transfer Room Verdict

Nothing can be ruled out in terms of Liverpool’s hunt for midfield reinforcements. The exits of Henderson and Fabinho were not planned so they are having to rethink their transfer strategy for this summer.

Amrabat would be a solid acquisition and could be used in conjunction with someone like Lavia to fill the void. He also seems to be available for a reasonable price so it would not be a surprise to see Reds chiefs make a move for the Moroccan.
