New Liverpool signing Dominik Szoboszlai says it’s a proud moment for him and his family after making his first appearance for the club in a friendly win over Karlsruher SC.
The 22-year-old started and lasted for 45 minutes as the Reds secured a 4-2 win over the German side as they stepped preparations ahead of next season.
Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota were all on target at the BBBank Wildpark on Wednesday night.
“It felt very good, a very proud moment for me and for my family as well. I’m really looking forward to having more and more games in the Liverpool shirt,” Dominik Szoboszlai told Liverpoolfc.com after the game.
“Yeah, I just give my best every single day, wake up thinking in the best way to give my best and also perform well in the game. That’s why I’m working really hard for this moment and I’m just going to continue [that].
“Of course it always feels good to win the game. I think we did everything that is possible; a good first game, now concentrating on the second one.
He added: “I felt really, really good – nice guys. They did it like I came to a team [where it feels like] I’ve been already. I thank all of them. Also the manager is German so I know this style of play in football, so nothing new for me. But still I have to do everything my best every day – and I’m going to do it.”
