Jurgen Klopp claims that Liverpool would make further additions to their squad ahead of the Premier League opening game against Chelsea.

The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and Leipzig respectively as Klopp looks to revamp his midfield this summer.

Liverpool lost Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain upon the expiry of their contracts in June and are set to part ways with experienced midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

The pair are leaning towards moves to Saudi Arabia with Henderson set to undergo a medical on Saturday ahead of his proposed move to Al-Ettifaq.

The 33-year-old missed the Merseysiders’ 4-2 friendly win over Karlsruher SC on Wednesday after Liverpool agreed a deal in principle with Steven Gerrard’s outfit worth an initial £12m plus add-ons.

Fabinho’s move to Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad is also edging closer, leaving Liverpool short of midfielders ahead of the new season, but Klopp says the transfer committee is working on new signings.

“There are so many things to do,” the German said on the ‘We are Liverpool’ podcast about pre-season. “The transfer window is open. If my day would have 28 hours at the moment it would not be a problem – I could fill them easily!

“With all the things you have to do left and right, my main focus and energy has to go into the training sessions then that’s what I do. Then either side of the sessions I can try to help with other stuff.

“Still three-and-a-half weeks until the first game of the season. a few things have to happen before then, definitely, transfer market wise as well. That is clear now. And it will happen. New players have to come in. We will have a good team.”

Liverpool has been linked with a move for several midfielders including Cheick Doucoure, Romeo Lavia, Ryan Gravenberch, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Joshua Kimmich.
