Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara only has one year left on his contract at the club which has reportedly alerted sides in Spain about his availability.

The Reds were always going to go through a midfield rebuild this summer due to the fact that Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all left at the end of their contracts.

However the fact that Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are now on the verge of leaving to go to Saudi Arabia Liverpool will need to bring even more central players in.

Hence why it was assumed that Thiago would stay at the club but due to the fact he is in his last year at Liverpool Sevilla and Real Sociedad are interested in signing him on a cheap deal.

Liverpool would allegedly consider a sale to avoid losing him on a free next summer even though the former Bayern Munich man would be the most experienced midfielder they have.

The 32-year-old has shown his quality numerous times at Liverpool however he has suffered with a lot injury issues which could tempt Liverpool into agreeing a deal.

Real Sociedad are the side who are very keen on bringing him back to Spain for the first time since 2013 and are the favourites ahead of Sevilla.

It remains to be seen if a formal offer will come Liverpool’s way but it is known that those two sides as well as Barcelona are very much interested in signing Thiago.

They may opt to wait until the end of the season instead though as then they can sign him on a free transfer.
