At the start of last season there was a lot of excitement as Liverpool brought in Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.
The attacking midfielder had just had a splendid season helping bring Fulham back up to the Premier League.
Carvalho started off quite well at Liverpool as he scored a goal against Bournemouth and then got a last-minute winner against Newcastle United.
However a year on Carvalho is not part of the Liverpool squad as he has been sent out on loan to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
He has been with the RB Leipzig squad for their pre-season and when asked whether Klopp had given him any advice ahead of his loan to Germany he gave an interesting answer.
“I don’t really speak to him, to be fair. He didn’t really give me any advice. I just had to learn as I go, and I feel that is better for me to mature anyway,” said the 20-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether Carvalho will be in Liverpool’s future plans after his loan with Leipzig with a good season set to increase his value.
So Liverpool may look to get a profit on him if those comments on Klopp are taken in the wrong way however they could just be viewed as honesty from him.
Having just signed Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister it made sense for Carvalho to go and gain experience but there was some suspicion that he wasn’t in Klopp’s good books as he featured in the Premier League for just 11 minutes after the 13th game week.
