Liverpool ran out 4-0 winners against Leicester City in their third pre-season friendly in Singapore on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp named a strong starting lineup again with new signing Alexis Mac Allister in midfield alongside Curtis Jones and youngster Bobby Clark.

It was a sluggish start to the match from the Reds and they could have found themselves behind but Caoimhin Kelleher pulled off a smart save from Wilfried Ndidi who was clean through on goal.

Liverpool eventually got into their stride however and they took the lead on the half-hour when Darwin Nunez fired home from close range after good work from Alexis Mac Allister and Diogo Jota.

Clark made it two, five minutes later when he finished well from 16 yards after Mohamed Salah played it into the 18-year-old’s path.

It was 3-0 just minutes later when Jota headed home superbly from Salah’s pinpoint cross from the right.

Klopp made 10 changes at half-time with only Caoimhin Kelleher retaining his place for the second 45.

The Reds continued to dominate after the break and Dominik Szoboszlai nearly added to the lead with an outrageous chip from just inside the Leicester half but Foxes keeper Mads Hermansen did well to scramble it clear for a corner.

Ben Doak made it 4-0 in the 64th minute when he headed home Joel Matip’s flick from a Szoboszlai corner.

Cody Gakpo forced another fine save from Hermansen minutes later when the Dutch international unleashed a low 25-yard drive whilst Luis Diaz also was unlucky not to increase the lead.

Other than the slow start to the match, Klopp will have taken many positives away from the game. His team are in action again in Singapore on Wednesday when they face Bayern Munich.
