Liverpool will need to move quickly if they are to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade.

According to Melissa Reddy, the Anfield hierarchy have approached the Brazilian Serie A club regarding a move for the 22-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp is in the market for midfield reinforcements after he unexpectedly lost both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi clubs.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai had been signed earlier this summer to fill the void left by James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The loss of two of Klopp’s most experienced players however, including his captain, was not planned and has left the Reds with a need to rethink their approach for the remainder of the transfer window.

Romeo Lavia of Southampton appears to be the main priority for Klopp but the Saints have reportedly turned down a second offer for the 19-year-old.

Do Liverpool have time to sign Andre Trindade?

As to whether Liverpool’s pursuit of Andre is directly related to that bid being rejected remains to be seen but Reds chiefs will have a battle to rush through a deal for the Brazilian.

That’s because the transfer window in Brazil shuts tomorrow (August 2nd) leaving Fluminense with little to no time to replace the impressive midfielder.

Speculation over recent weeks had suggested that they were not willing to lose him prior to the end of the Serie A season in December in any case.

Can Liverpool do a deal and Fluminense find a replacement before tomorrow’s deadline or is this a ploy to get Southampton to budge on Lavia? All will hopefully be revealed over the coming days.
