Liverpool U21s have been handed a mini-derby at home for the opening fixture in the Premier League 2. The young Reds will face a host of new sides this season after a format change to the competition means what was two divisions, will now be one 26-team league made up of ‘Category One’ academies.
The side led by Barry Lewtas will be hoping to go one better than their second-place finish last season, with plenty of new faces expected to feature a key part this season alongside the likes of Ben Doak, Conor Bradley & Jarell Qauansah who have all been a part of the Singapore Pre-Season tour.
The U21s will also feature in the EFL Trophy, with the first game coming up against Barrow on Tuesday, November 7th.
