Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara is committed to the club ahead of the 2023/24 season according to Fabrizio Romano.
The club have had a busy transfer window in terms of outgoings as they have lost several midfielders.
James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita all left due to expired contracts whereas Jordan Henderson and Fabinho departed to Saudi Arabia.
There has been plenty of rumours about Thiago being another one to depart but the Spanish international is not going anywhere.
There has been plenty of interest from Saudi Arabia after they already took Fabinho and Henderson from Liverpool.
Supposedly there has been phone calls about Thiago’s availability ever week but he is wanting to stay on Merseyside.
He is passionate about Liverpool and really wants to play for the club this season so the 32-year-old will see out his final year.
Due to Liverpool being slow in bringing a defensive midfielder to replace the outgoings Thiago could be seen as a experienced option to play in the deeper role.
He has returned to full training but he has not played any pre-season games so far but there is hope that he will feature against Darmstadt at Deepdale.
His injury history so far during his time at Anfield will be a worry for supporters but he has proved time and time again of what he is capable of.
So his last season at Liverpool could be a big one.
