Liverpool have reportedly held talks with Aston Villa about young winger Jaden Philogene-Bidace.
One of the areas Liverpool have not needed to reinforce this summer has been the attack due to the five options they have.
Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will all be vying for a starting role this season with Jurgen Klopp having quality options for his frontline.
As well as them youngster Ben Doak has shone throughout pre-season and he is expected to get some gametime this season.
However that has not stopped them from looking at Aston Villa winger Philogene-Bidace who has impressed at the Villains during pre-season.
The 21-year-old has had back-to-back seasons on loan in the Championship with Cardiff City and Stoke City.
Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the England youth international but Liverpool may face some competition of Newcastle United who also like him.
However any deal will be tough as Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has intentions of using him this season with Villa in European competition.
He has played just five senior games for Villa but he will be trusted this upcoming campaign so that will increase.
That will be a blow for Liverpool as his price will inevitably rise should he continue impressing Emery.
It is anticipated that Liverpool will have a busy end to the transfer window but it appears unlikely that an offer will come in for Philogene-Bidace with the midfield and defence being the priority.
However if a player comes in soon it would appear that they won’t be ready for the opening game in a weeks time against Chelsea.
