Liverpool’s midfield is already running bare, so a €12million bid from Al Ahli for Thiago is unlikely to be well received at the club.
The Red’s will go into the first game of the season with no recognised number six in the midfield. Thiago is likely to be one of the only player’s that can sort of do that role. If the Spaniard left, it would be a disaster for Liverpool.
The bid is yet to be responded to by Liverpool.
Al Ahli In For Thiago:
As reported by L’Equipe, Al Ahli have submitted a €12million bid for Liverpool midfielder Thiago. It’s unlikely that Liverpool will accept unless they have players lined up.
Romeo Lavia is the main target but with Chelsea lurking it’s now in jeopardy. Thiago’s fitness issues aside, it’s not the right time for Liverpool to sell the midfielder.
The Saudi League has already pinched Fabinho and Jordan Henderson this summer. Liverpool will be hoping Thiago doesn’t join that list.
€12million is on the low side of things, with Liverpool in any case likely to look for a bit more than that. Thiago is said to be happy at Liverpool.
No response to the bid from Liverpool as of yet.
