Manchester United are considering making a move for Everton Midfielder Amadou Onana, according to a report.

The Red Devils have had a busier summer than usual so far and similar to the norm, have been linked to a whole host of players alongside those who they have actually brought in. It still doesn’t look like the end of the transfer business this summer, in terms of incomings or outgoings.

In terms of players operating in midfield, United already have a fair few senior players, with the addition of two academy players who have featured quite a bit in pre-season.

However, manager Erik Ten Hag still looks keen on signing another midfielder to aid Mason Mount, another in the position that signed earlier in the summer.

Amadou Onana has now been linked with United by the Daily Mail, who is said to be seen as an alternative to Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat.

The 21-year-old made 33 appearances in the league last season, scoring one goal and making two assists as a defensive midfielder.

It was reported that since United also have Amrabat on their list – the fee required to sign the Belgian will be important in which player actually ends up signing.

This comes after the departure of Brazilian Fred, who was announced to have left the Manchester club on Friday.
