Jurgen Klopp takes his Liverpool team to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face Chelsea in the season opener.
On the whole Liverpool had a positive pre-season in which they were free scoring but the leaking of goals will need to be stopped ahead of the new campaign.
Klopp’s main dilemmas ahead of the match are as to who plays in midfield and attack.
The back five almost picks itself with Trent Alexander-Arnold to continue in an inverted right back position.
In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister showed his class in the number six role against Darmstadt 98 on Monday and could continue there on Sunday.
Curtis Jones will also be in contention to play the anchor role.
Klopp has an embarrassment of riches in his forward options and could use Cody Gakpo in a midfield role if he wants to get more attacking options on the pitch.
Darwin Nunez is likely to start the game on the bench despite an impressive pre-season.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Chelsea
Alisson Becker;
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson;
Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo;
Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz
