Liverpool have reportedly entered talks with Joao Palhinha about bringing him to the club after they missed out on Moises Caicedo.
The Reds had agreed a deal with Brighton for Caicedo worth a staggering £111 million however the Ecuadorian wanted to join Chelsea.
Even though the London club took a while to put a bid together they managed it eventually and now they have agreed a deal for him.
Before Caicedo Liverpool were strongly interested in Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia but it also appears that he is joining Chelsea.
So due to this Liverpool need to swiftly move onto to other transfer targets and one of them is allegedly Fulham’s Palhinha.
He was linked with a move a few weeks ago but he suffered a shoulder injury in pre-season which led to him having to miss Fulham’s opening win against Everton.
At the moment Liverpool are weighing up a move for the 28-year-old Portuguese international and he is keen on the move.
There is hope that Palhinha will be fit enough for the second game of the season but it is not confirmed yet so that could be key in any discussions.
Due to Liverpool’s move for Caicedo they have now proved they do have the money to spend so it will be an intense next couple of weeks in the transfer window for Jurgen Klopp.
