Ex-Manchester United player Paul Parker has said Facundo Pellistri should be given more of a chance and suggested Alejandro Garnacho could go on loan.

The Red Devils have struggled so far this season. They should have lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their first game and then were defeated 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

The forwards have been questioned more than anyone for the performances, with players like Antony, Macrus Rashford and even young Alejandro Garnacho receiving criticism.

Parker has suggested to My Betting Sites that 21-year-old Facundo Pellistri should be given a shot: “Every time he comes on he makes you notice him. He’s everything a manager would want from somebody on the bench.

He deserves a start to be honest. Sometimes you need to thank those players by giving them a start. Garnacho has shown that at this moment in time, he’s an impact player and we need to find this out about Pellistri.

“He needs that opportunity because the player playing in front of him has been poor and shown inconsistency – no end product.”

Garnacho has started both of the games so far after impressing as an impact player last season but has struggled to perform the same from the start in this campaign as things stand.

“It would be wrong to send Pellistri out on loan without giving him a chance. Maybe Garnacho needs a loan to go and learn his game.

“In my opinion, Garnacho and Pellistri are at the same level but Pellistri seems to have a bit more about him. He’s got a quicker change of pace.

He finished: “It might give Antony a kick up the backside to see a young player come in and make him prove a point rather than taking his place for granted. But the Manchester United fans want to see Pellistri because he’s young and he’s willing to have a go.”

United play Nottingham Forest on Saturday, where we could see a few changes from Erik Ten Hag in the lineup, after the same 11 was picked twice in a row in the previous games.
