Manchester United have announced an outgoing in the last few minutes, with Brandon Williams joining Championship side Ipswich Town on a season long loan. There is a known buy-option in the deal. Williams will join up with former United coach Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town.

The English defender was unlikely to get minutes for United this season. It’s his first loan since being out at Norwich in the 21/22 season.

United will be hoping it’s a kickstart to the career of a promising full-back.

Manchester United announced the news moments ago. Williams spoke about his excitement joining Ipswich, and reuniting with Kieran McKenna.

“Kieran was my youth-team coach at United and, from there, we have had a great relationship,” the defender told Ipswich’s official website. “He has always had the standards of a coach at the top level and has had a big influence on me.

“He has always kept in touch with me to make sure I’m okay and I trust everything he says because he is great to learn off. I’m excited to work with him again.”

Williams is out of contract next year at United, and it will be up to the club whether they let him leave for free. United have an option of a one-year extension.

United are hoping for more outgoings before the window closes.
