Despite Jurgen Klopp’s insistence that Mohamed Salah is not for sale, Al-Ittihad are prepared to make a €150million offer for the Egyptian superstar according to a report.
Salah played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, providing the assist for Darwin Nunez’s injury-time winner.
After the game, Klopp was asked again about the future of the 31-year-old, and he reiterated his stance that the matter was closed.
Al-Ittihad Preparing Mohamed Salah Offer
Al-Ittihad continues to push the move however and according to James Benge, they are prepared to offer a total package worth €150million.
The sports correspondent for CBS Sports suggests that would include €100million guaranteed and €50million in addons, of which not all of them would be easily achievable.
He goes on to say that Salah would be offered a salary comparable to that being paid to Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
The Transfer Room Verdict
In the normal course of business, a transfer fee of such proportions for a 31-year-old would be seriously considered.
For such a key player like Salah however, who is so crucial to Liverpool, it will not be enough with just four days left before the transfer window closes and therefore hardly any time to find a suitable replacement.
Liverpool and Klopp have remained resolute that he is not for sale and it looks like that stance will not change.
