Former Manchester United player Fred has confirmed a Fernerbache player has left to join the club.
Erik Ten Hag’s team have made three signings this summer but are still on the lookout for new players. One is a goalkeeper, since despite the acquisition of Andre Onana from Inter Milan, the squad still lacks a suitable backup. Dean Henderson looking destined to join Crystal Palace.
While this might not be the exciting transfer United fans were hoping for (With a more important midfielder and a defender also seemingly on the list) it looks done, with Fenerbache’s Altay Bayindir linked strongly with the club in recent days.
Fred played 213 games for Manchester United and left The Red Devils this summer to join Turkish side Fenerbahce for a reported fee of around 10million Euros.
He seemed to confirm the transfer, saying: “I wished Altay good luck when he left. He is going to join a great team. I suggested some neighbourhoods where he could live. I told him it was raining a lot. Altay will be very happy at Manchester United.” (Quote via UtdPlug).
United still have a few days to complete transfers, with the window shutting closed on September 1st.
Players such as Marc Cucurella, Ryan Gravenberch, Marcos Alonso and more all look like they could come to the club before that date, but it only looks likely that they will complete one more signing after the goalkeeper.
