Liverpool are making a concerted effort to secure the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch before the transfer window closes on Friday, according to renowned journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The reigning Bundesliga champions are currently awaiting concrete offers for the 21-year-old, who currently occupies the role of fourth-choice central midfielder within the team under the management of Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel has expressed a preference for utilizing Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, as well as summer acquisition Konrad Laimer, ahead of the promising midfielder Gravenberch.
This situation has prompted speculation that Tuchel is open to the idea of parting ways with Gravenberch and allocating the resulting funds towards acquiring a specialised holding midfielder.
Eager for more consistent playing time in the new season, Gravenberch finds himself discontented with his present circumstances at the club. As of now, he has not made a single appearance for Bayern Munich in their first four matches of the new season.
Previous reports suggested the possibility of a swap deal between Manchester United and Bayern Munich, involving the Netherlands U-21 international Gravenberch and Scott McTominay.
However, according to Sky Germany’s Plettenberg, Gravenberch has yet to receive confirmation regarding any potential swap, though his departure from Bayern Munich in the coming days remains plausible.
During the previous season, Gravenberch managed to feature in 33 games, contributing to two goals. Notably, the majority of his appearances were in the capacity of a substitute player.
