Nicolas Tagliafico, the Lyon defender, is reportedly eager to join Manchester United during the ongoing summer transfer window. The 30-year-old is seeking a reunion with his former manager, who is currently at Old Trafford.
Having previously played under Ten Hag at Ajax, Tagliafico has been identified as the preferred signing for the left-back position due to Luke Shaw’s injury. Despite considering other options such as Marcos Alonso and Marc Cucurella, Tagliafico is the most likely candidate to be signed by United.
This move is necessary as Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both injured and require cover.

According to a report by Jacque Talbot from Transfers Dot Com, Tagliafico is actively pushing for the move to Old Trafford. While United prefer a straight loan deal, Lyon is looking to include a buy option.
With only three days remaining in the summer transfer window, United is focused on securing temporary left-back cover for the injured players, rather than a permanent signing.
