The 21-year-old’s absence from training has sparked speculations about a possible transfer to Anfield, with reports suggesting that Liverpool are preparing an official bid of £26m (€30m) to secure his signature.

However, Bayern are reportedly willing to sanction Gravenberch’s departure only if they secure a suitable replacement. Thomas Tuchel’s interest in acquiring Fulham’s João Palhinha before the transfer window closes on Friday has been widely reported.

Bayern have reportedly tabled an initial offer of £52m (€60m) plus potential bonuses, but Liverpool is holding out for at least £69m (€80m) for the versatile 28-year-old midfielder.

Should negotiations for Palhinha not materialise, Bayern Munich might turn their attention to Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

Gravenberch, who joined Bayern from Ajax last season, is reportedly keen on leaving the club this summer. He currently ranks fourth in the pecking order for central midfielders, trailing behind players such as Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Konrad Laimer.

He has struggled to secure consistent playing time, making only three starts while featuring as a substitute in the remaining appearances. Despite this, Gravenberch has made 33 appearances across various competitions, contributing to two goals.

Nevertheless, his role in the ongoing season remains uncertain. He recently made a substitute appearance against Augsburg, indicating that he may not be guaranteed more substantial involvement on the field.

Gravenberch’s versatility on the field has attracted interest from Manchester United as well. However, his reported preference aligns with Liverpool. The upcoming hours are expected to be pivotal as negotiations between Bayern Munich and Liverpool unfold.
