Manchester United are now seriously considering moving for Sergio Reguilon instead of Marc Cucurella. United are on the pursuit of Sofyan Amrabat, and want to free up as much funds as they can. Cucurella would be significantly dearer than Reguilon.

Tottenham are happy to allow Reguilon to leave the club on loan. Chelsea complicated matters by playing Cucurella in the League Cup last night. That means he is now cup tied for the remainder of the season.

United have switched their attention to Reguilon. There is serious consideration into the deal happening.

As reported by David Ornstein, Manchester United are now considering a move for Sergio Reguilon over Marc Cucurella.

Reguilon was a target for United the season he signed for Spurs. The deal may now happen, just a couple of years late. The Red’s want to free up funds for a move for Sofyan Amrabat, and the Cucurella loan could cost them £5million.

The pursuit of Cucurella has not been completely abandoned but it is in doubt. Reguilon is also being looked at for football reasons, and not just the financial implications of the deal.

Chelsea have effectively thrown the deal into jeopardy by playing Cucurella last night. The move angered United, and the deal is now hanging in the balance.
