Despite the discovery of a minor back injury during his medical examination, Sofyan Amrabat has been actively participating in training with Manchester United over the past two days. The club opted to move forward with the signing despite the issue, and the Moroccan midfielder is now training at Carrington alongside his new teammates.
Initially called up to the national team last week, Amrabat has chosen to remain with Manchester United to focus on regaining full fitness. Notably, he was photographed training with fellow new signing Sergio Reguilon.
Considering that Amrabat is now actively training with the team, it appears that his back injury is of minor concern.
Amrabat Trains With United:
Amrabat has already taken part in two light training sessions with Manchester United as he works to regain full fitness. During the past two weeks, he did not train with Fiorentina as he was determined to finalize his move to United.
Manager Erik ten Hag will oversee Amrabat’s fitness regimen over the next two weeks, with the aim of having him available for the upcoming game against Brighton. Amrabat is expected to feature in midfield, either as a lone defensive midfielder or alongside Casemiro.
Manchester United was eager to secure Amrabat’s inclusion in the squad before the transfer window closed. The club concluded that the minor injury discovered during the medical should not deter the transfer and decided to proceed with the deal.
The agreement involves a loan arrangement until the end of the season, with an option to buy. The decision to exercise this option will likely depend on Amrabat’s performance throughout the season.
Manchester United is anticipated to officially introduce Sofyan Amrabat later today.
