Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho is reportedly set to join Hull City on loan until the end of the season, as per The Athletic.
According to the online news outlet, “Carvalho held positive talks with Hull’s head coach Liam Rosenior and Liverpool teammate Tyler Morton, who is currently on a season-long loan at Hull.”
The Portugal U-21 international, who recently returned to Liverpool from his loan spell at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, had garnered interest from multiple clubs, including Hull’s Championship rivals Southampton, Leicester City, and Fulham.
While Southampton remain interested in signing Carvalho, Hull appears to be the frontrunner to secure his services during this transfer window.
The Athletic further indicated, “Both Hull and Southampton have presented proposals that suit Liverpool, therefore, the decision lies with Carvalho. Barring any unforeseen developments, his move to the MKM Stadium is expected to be finalised this week.”
Fabio Carvalho initially moved to Germany on a season-long deal but struggled to secure consistent playing time, making 15 appearances for Leipzig, mostly from the bench.
He joined Liverpool from Fulham in the summer of 2022, though he found it challenging to make an impression on Jurgen Klopp and his team before his transfer to Leipzig.
The midfielder made 21 appearances for the Reds last season, scoring three goals across all competitions.
