Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo as they consider a potential move in the summer transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.

Adarabioyo, whose contract will expire in the summer is also attracting interest from AC Milan.

The daily newspaper claims that Fulham are preparing a fresh deal offer for the 26-year-old to ward off interest in him, and have signalled their intent to restart contract negotiations after summer talks broke down.

It is believed that he is open to staying at Craven Cottage and will decide his future at the end of the season as he boasts a good working relationship with Marco Silva.

The Reds are carefully evaluating their defensive options, and Adarabioyo has emerged as a player of interest following a long-term injury to Joel Matip whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Matip is currently in the treatment room for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury sustained in Liverpool’s 4-3 victory over Fulham on December 3.

As of now, there have been no reported negotiations between the club and Matip, signaling his impending departure from Anfield in the summer.

In their pursuit of defensive reinforcements, Liverpool have been linked with several players, including Leny Yoro from Lille, Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice, Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, Kevin Mantill from Telleres, and Facundo Gonzalez, who is currently on loan at Sampdoria from Juventus.

Adarabioyo has been a standout performer for Fulham, showcasing solid defensive skills and composure on the ball this campaign.

He has racked up 16 appearances and scored one goal for Marco Silva’s side across all competitions.

Last season, he was ever-present for Fulham as he made 29 appearances and scored once as they finished 10th in the Premier League table.

The Evening Standard further stated that the Merseysiders need English players to meet their UEFA quota for homegrown players in the Champions League next season.
