Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad are going to make a move for Liverpool midfielder Fabinho according to David Ornstein.

The Brazilian international has been at Liverpool for five years and now there is a chance that he could leave the club.

Al-Ittihad are prepared to bid £40 million for the defensive midfielder who is coming off the back of a poor season at the Reds.

Jordan Henderson is also potentially moving to Saudi Arabia so another departure would force Liverpool to go into the transfer market.

The deal could move at a quick pace either way as Liverpool could completely shut down the move or they could accept and it wouldn’t take long for Fabinho to leave.

If he were to leave he would be joining the side who are managed by former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo and they have already signed Karim Benzeam, N’golo Kante and Jota so far in this transfer window.

Fabinho has been one of the most important players under Jurgen Klopp but with a midfield rebuild already taking place they may find it hard to turn down £40 million.

It would allow them to bring in Romeo Lavia from Southampton who they have been targeting but Liverpool may want someone a bit more experienced if they lose both Fabinho and Henderson after already seeing James Milner leave.
