This past season was a struggle for most associated with Chelsea. The Blues were never able to put an extended run of good form together and found themselves languishing in mid-table for the majority of the campaign.
In particular, Christian Pulisic saw himself struggle for consistent game time and availability, losing out on valuable developmental time. Ahead of his upcoming matches with the USMNT, the forward offered his thoughts on the season.
‘It’s been a really tough season for me personally and for our team of course at a club level. So for me, it’s just about coming in here and having a fresh start and being able to be a part of a team that hopefully can come out and win some games.’
The American also mentioned his hopes that he could use these upcoming fixtures as a springboard to regain his form and confidence.
‘I am really excited to be here and just get some minutes on the field and just get back to being that confident player that I know I can be and just find my footing again and just enjoying the game because it feels like it’s been tough to do that lately.’
All signs point to an exit for the forward this summer, which may be best for all parties. It is a shame how things turned out, as Pulisic looked a real star for Chelsea before all the successive injuries became his undoing.
