Liverpool fans are embracing themselves for an uncomfortable few days with Al-Ittihad reportedly readying a new offer of £175million for Mohamed Salah.
The 31-year-old was on target as Liverpool beat Aston Villa on Sunday, meaning the Reds have taken 10 points from a possible 12 in an impressive start to the new campaign.
Despite Salah appearing to be happy at Anfield, rumours persist that he is open to a move to Saudi. Al-Ittihad are also reported to have had a verbal offer of £150million turned down by Reds chiefs for the Egyptian.
Al-Ittihad Preparing New Mohamed Salah Offer
According to Ben Jacobs, they looks set to return with a new offer of £175million with over £120million of that guaranteed.
The sports broadcaster also claims that they could be pushed as far as £200million inclusive of ‘less gettable’ Club World Cup add-ons if their latest bid is rebuffed.
Jacobs suggest that Al-Ittihad’s desire to get a deal done now is because other Saudi clubs could enter the fray for Salah in 2024. Liverpool remain determined to keep hold of their talisman however with the deal appearing difficult to pull off at this late stage.
Whilst the transfer window for Premier League clubs closed last week, Saudi clubs have until Thursday to add reinforcements to their squads meaning it could be a nervous few days ahead for Reds fans.
