Liverpool duo Alisson Becker and Joe Gomez could miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against Burnley at Anfield, according to reports.
Alisson and Gomez were not spotted during the Reds’ pre-match walk this morning as posted on X by a Liverpool fan Alex.
The pair have played a pivotal role in fueling Liverpool’s pursuit of four titles this season, having successfully reached the final of the Carabao Cup and will face Chelsea in a repeat of the 2022 final.
Jurgen Klopp will be without several key players for the game against Vicent Kompany’s side including Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, Joel Matip, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Thiago Alcantara.
Kostas Tsimikas has been training with his first-team squad for the past few weeks as he continues his recovery from a broken collarbone but it’s unknown if he will be available to feature on Saturday.
On Thiago’s latest injury setback, Klopp said: “We don’t know the extent yet. We have to wait there a little bit, but it’s not cool, of course.”
“It was really not good news for him, for us, for everybody. On top of losing the game already and having that is not good.
“Yes [I expect him to play again this season], but we didn’t really think about that, in the moment we just treat the injury and get a full assessment done and knowing exactly where it came from. It’s not the intensity and stuff like this, so there are different things.
“It’s just the normal procedure and it would not be a big story if he wouldn’t have been out for that long a time. That’s how it is. It’s not a big, big injury, definitely not, but it’s obviously something nobody needed.”
The 56-year-old added: “We have a few problems and have to wait.
“We are fighting with a little bit of a flu thing in the squad so we have to see who is in the end available, so that’s all not cool. But in the end, we will have 11 players and we will go for it.”
Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate will not be involved this weekend. Bradley lost his dad last week and subsequently missed the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal last weekend.
Konate will serve a one-match suspension following his sending-off against the Gunners for two yellow cards.
