Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has reflected on his five years at the club as he’s set to commence a sixth year in the coming season.
Alisson moved to Anfield from Roma in 2018 and helped the club win the Champions League, Premier League, Club World Cup, Emirates FA, and Carabao Cup.
The Brazilian has racked up 231 appearances between the posts and kept impressive 103 clean sheets across all competitions. He was Liverpool’s Player of the Season in the recent campaign following his consistent displays for the Reds.
“It’s a fresh start from the past five years,” the No.1 told Liverpoolfc.com of the personal milestone.
“I only use those years to remember how good it is to be a Liverpool player. How good it is to be part of this family – a big family.
“The team, the supporters, the staff; everybody here, they are amazing. I love this place. I love being a Liverpool player and I want to give my all for the team to achieve our goals and go back to winning again.”
He added: “I’m always excited about playing football. I love playing football. I love it here. I love my job. It’s fantastic always when you can start a new season, because you have another opportunity to do the things that you love to do. It’s not only about trying to win titles but it’s really trying to appreciate the journey and to work hard for that.
“You need to work hard to achieve goals and to win trophies. You have to do that for sure, but if you can enjoy the ride it becomes even more special. It’s what we do here. It’s what I do with my life; with everything I do, I do with passion, I do with love, so in the end we can enjoy.”
