Ben Doak has signed a new long term contract at Liverpool just over a year after joining from Celtic.
The 17-year-old’s progress has been nothing short of sensational since his move to Anfield and an impressive pre-season has seen him force himself further into Jurgen Klopp’s first team plans.
Doak made his debut for Liverpool last November when he came on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup against Derby County and went on to make his Premier League debut, again as a substitute, in the victory over Aston Villa in December.
The Scotland under-21 international’s performances this summer and his first senior goal were enough to convince Klopp that he should not be put out on loan this season.
He is expected to play some part as Liverpool get their Europa League campaign underway on Thursday against LASK of Austria.
Liverpool have now moved swiftly to reward the youngster for his progress with Doak’s long term future secured at Anfield.
