Bruno Fernandes has been officially named as the new Manchester United captain. The midfielder takes the armband from Harry Maguire following news of his captaincy being no more.
The Portuguese international wore the captain’s armband for most of last season. The decision announced today by United comes as no surprise with many expecting Fernandes to take the role permanently.
Fernandes has proved time and time again that he is worthy of the captaincy at Old Trafford. Since joining United, the players determination to win and succeed has been unmatched at the club.
Erik Ten Hag’s United project is really starting to take shape. A new era is in full swing with the signing of a new goalkeeper and now the captaincy change being two major steps in that direction.
