Chelsea are on the verge of getting their main target Moises Caicedo as they have reportedly finally agreed a fee with Brighton

After several days of drama they are now actually on the verge of completing a deal for the Ecuadorian international.

He was Chelsea’s main target from the start of the transfer window but they weren’t willing to pay the triple figures Brighton were asking for.

So therefore Liverpool swooped in and agreed a £111 million fee with The Seagulls very quickly but then it was reported that Caicedo only wanted to move to Chelsea.

Even though Brighton had given both clubs a deadline which Liverpool met and Chelsea didn’t they were open to other offers.

They had to wait a couple more days but now a fee has been agreed which will break the British transfer record.

Caicedo will sign his Chelsea deal until 2031 with a option for another year and Brighton also have a sell-on clause.

Liverpool will now have to move onto other targets but going back to Romeo Lavia of Southampton seems unlikely as Chelsea are also on the verge of signing him.

There is two and a half weeks for Liverpool to complete any signings with the Premier League season now underway.
