Last Summer, Liverpool agreed to sign of Giorgi Mamardashvili, a 6-foot-6 Georgian monster between the sticks. The shot-stopper from Valencia set the Reds back a total of £25million with an additional £4million in add-ons. The Georgian international is set to join the Merseyside team this Summer following his final year with the Spanish side in La Liga.

With the arrival of the new man, it leaves a question over the futures of Liverpool’s current crop of goalkeeping talent with Alisson Becker suffering more and more hamstring and muscle injuries and Caoimhin Kelleher wanting to be a first team choice.

According to Football Insider, Premier League rivals Chelsea are willing to meet the asking price for Caoimhin Kelleher. Liverpool’s asking price, previously reported by Football Insider also, is between £30million and £40million.

That price is said to be very appealing to Chelsea, who are prepared to match this demand for the Irish International as they believe it would be good value for money.

Chelsea have their own current goalkeeper problems with the likes of £25million signing Robert Sanchez being demoted to the bench against West Ham United and Brighton in favour of the second choice option, Filip Jørgensen, who also cost the Blues £19.5million.

Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout, Mick Brown, has said that Kelleher’s ability to perform at the top level and profile provide Chelsea with what they feel is a good fit for their current situation.
