Liverpool are on the verge of securing a new long-term contract for full-back Conor Bradley, according to TBR Football.

While much of the current focus is on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future – his contract expires this summer – the Reds have been working behind the scenes to tie down one of their most promising young players.

Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Real Madrid, dealing a significant blow to Richard Hughes and his recruitment team, who made every effort to keep the academy graduate at Anfield.

Losing a player of Alexander-Arnold’s calibre is undoubtedly a setback for new head coach Arne Slot.

However, his departure presents opportunities for other talents within the squad.

Bradley, in particular, stands to benefit. Liverpool have been negotiating fresh terms with the Northern Ireland international, and they are now close to finalising a new five-year contract.

While the club’s primary focus remains on extending the contracts of key senior figures like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, TBR Football reports that discussions with Bradley’s representatives have progressed smoothly.

Liverpool have assured Bradley that, although they plan to strengthen their right-back options following Alexander-Arnold’s exit, he will play a significant role in the squad regardless of any incoming signings.

Negotiations have accelerated in recent weeks, in contrast to the more complex discussions surrounding some of his more established teammates.

Meanwhile, winger Luis Diaz is eager for a new contract offer from Liverpool. If talks do not progress soon, he could follow a similar path to Alexander-Arnold in seeking a move elsewhere.

As for Bradley, the 21-year-old is set to enjoy more first-team opportunities next season, along with a significant salary increase.
