Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is closing in on his move to Al Nassr as he’s expected to undergo a medical on Monday, according to Sky Sports.

Bayern Munich have agreed a deal worth £24m with the Saudi Pro League side for the transfer of the 31-year-old who is not part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans ahead of next season.

Mane will put pen to paper on a four-year deal and will earn more than £34m per year tax-free playing for Al Nassr with a wage equivalent to more than £650,000 per week.

He is set to have a medical in Dubai and if the deal goes through, he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.

The Senegalese joined Bayern last summer from Liverpool in a deal worth around £35m and endured a difficult time in Germany. He scored 12 goals and recorded six assists in 38 games across all competitions as the Bavarians beat Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title on a dramatic final day.

His bust-up with club teammate Leroy Sane during their Champions League defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium was one of the low points of Mane’s career in Germany.

Mane travelled on Bayern’s pre-season tour of Asia but was left out of Saturday’s friendly win over Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo.

He will become Al Nassr’s fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Reuben Neves, Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic, and Alex Telles.

The forward has previously featured for Metz, RB Salzburg, and Southampton. During his time at Anfield, the Senegal international scored 120 goals in 269 games, finishing the 2021/22 season with 23 goals in all competitions.

He helped Liverpool win several titles including the Champions League, Club World Cup, Super Cup, Premier League, and Emirates FA Cup.

Al Nassr will target the league title in the 2023/24 season after they missed out on winning the Saudi Pro League last season by five points, finishing as runners-up behind champions Al-Ittihad.
