There is ‘renewed expectation’ that Fabinho’s transfer to Al-Ittihad will now go ahead.
Just under two weeks ago, news broke of a £40million offer from the Saudi club for the midfielder.
The Brazilian was subsequently left off of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Germany as speculation mounted that he had agreed on personal terms with a view to a transfer.
It went quiet however and reports over the past few days even suggested that the move was in jeopardy with the 29-year-old set to return to training with Liverpool on Wednesday.
Fabinho Transfer to Al-Ittihad to move forward?
According to the reliable Paul Joyce however, there is now ‘renewed expectation’ that the move will go ahead.
The issue appears to have been related to the payment terms between the two clubs but it now looks like it has been resolved with talks having resumed.
Joyce also reports that Southampton are expecting a fresh approach from Liverpool for midfielder Romeo Lavia after their initial offer of £34million plus £4million in add-ons was turned down by the Saints.
Liverpool are desperately in need of midfield reinforcements with skipper Jordan Henderson also on the verge of a move to Al-Ettifaq.
If a deal goes through, 19-year-old Lavia would become Jurgen Klopp’s third signing of the summer after Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai arrived at Anfield.
