Famous football journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed Chelsea could sell Marc Curcurella to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have struggled at the start of this season with performances, at least compared to what would be expected of them. They narrowly beat Wolves at home, who were the better team on the day, then lost to Spurs and won after going two goals down to Nottingham Forest.

United face an injury crisis at the moment which has added to the difficulty. Players such as Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and now seemingly Raphael Varane are all out.

The biggest problem is at left-back, where both Shaw and Malacia are injured, leaving only Diogo Dalot (A right-back) and Alvaro Fernandez (Who, 20, has not yet played for the senior team in a competitive fixture)

Reports have suggested that the club may decide to bring someone in to plug the gap in the position while they wait for the two to return to fitness.

Curcurella only moved to Chelsea last summer but looks out of favour at the moment under Mauricio Pochettino.

Romano has said that Chelsea are “Open” to allowing him to join United on loan, provided they meet the terms including the loan fee and salary coverage.

The journalist also said on his YouTube channel that the Spaniard is Erik Ten Hag’s first choice for the position.

The transfer window shuts closed on September 1st.
